About Rover Dave

A long time ago I was born in the infamous town of Windsor in the southeast of England. At the age of three, my family immigrated to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Four years later we were calling Granby, Quebec, our home. Another four years found us back in the west of Canada, North Vancouver to be specific.

My extended family still calls Vancouver home, but I took my family to Kamloops, BC, and then to Penticton, BC. From there we moved to Grande Prairie, Alberta. Three winters were enough in the greater white north thank you so I worked on a friend to transfer me south to Federal Way, Washington.

I am Canadian

I must admit my allegiance is to Canada first and foremost. Those first three years in England didn’t really make much of an impression. These last years in the USA have not really enamoured me.

So… I will forever identify as Canadian.

An adventure in France

Now, I am moving my wife of fifty plus years, and my dog across the Atlantic to the South of France. Something about the motto of Liberty, Equality, Fraternity appeals to me. Something about living in a land that was conquered by Romans and contested over by the British and the French. So much history! So little time!

Like Aragon, I wander. I wander the world to learn about others. Other places, other people, other stuff. I wander seeking beauty and understanding. Beauty is everywhere. Understanding, not so much, but we try.
